Why did police use tear gas on the NATO protestors?
Q. Why not use triple action on them...tear gas, rubber pellets, and water cannons all at the same time? Nothing more hilarious than watching rebellious hippy losers getting their just dues.

How many were killed per Tiananmen Square "Incident" in China and why didn't military just use tear gas?
Q. I've heard varying accounts of the number of fatalities per the Tiananmen Square incident in China. Is there any reliable number of the total number killed? Why couldn't the military have just used tear gas, water cannons, etc. to break up the demonstration? Did any military die? Thank you.

A. China in 1989 was a far different place than it is today...yet even today the government of China isn't above killing 7,000 to 10,000 dissidents to maintain control of the populace. If memory serves me well...At the time, dissenter and student reports were coming out of China reporting that bodies were stacked up to two meters high in the square. And that the million plus people assembled there had a difficult time getting away from as many as 20,000 troops (5,000 to 10,000 of which the Chinese government says were injured) using automatic weapons because of the square being littered with bodies. It is hard to say if an accurate number of people killed may exist. The Chinese government officially reported that less than 300 students… [cont.]

What is better about the 3-in-1 OC, Tear Gas, Dye pepper sprays?
Q. I am in the Coast Guard, and know first hand the way a 10% 2Million SHU pepper spray can affect me. But what I want to know is how differen the tear gas/pepper spray combo's work. My girlfriend has the small Sabre, keychain unit. I was doing research and seem happy with Fox's products on pepper spray, especially their Mean Green. But I wanted to know if people have heard stories of the pepper spray/tear gas combinations being better. Thanks in advance!

A. Def Tech ( Defense Technologies) and Fox are among the best on the market today. Sabre is a civilian spray, which while better than nothing, is not truly effective. It can lead to a false sense of security that if actually needed and used, will leave the person still in a bad situation. The only advantage of the dye marking sprays is that it will leave an indelible mark on the perp so the police can find him easily. The advantage of having an OC and tear gas ( such as CS or CN) is that each person has their own reactions to different types of sprays. OC ( to me ) is highly unpleasant. CS on the other hand is like breathing broken glass. This is entirely a personal issue only. There is something in CS that my system does not like. Using… [cont.]

A. From my experiences in the Marine Corps, the only thing I know of is really to let it just air out. I would recommend trying to clean off every surface as thoroughly as possible, but the tear gas will linger for about two weeks to a month anyway. According to wikipedia, decontamination can be performed by washing with an alkaline solution of water and 5% sodium bisulfite (sulfuric acid), although I shudder to think what that will do to your house.

What's the pay rate for a tear gas specialist at NATO summits?
Q. Wouldn't you just love to get a few shots in on these hippy losers?
Asked by Opinion101 - Thu Apr 2 16:37:07 2009 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. You talk tough, but just like the cops at the summit today and yesterday, you'd only have the guts to do anything if you were suited up with all the police riot gear, and knew that anyone who tried to defend themselves would be arrested for assault on a police officer. All the cops at the G20 Summit who went around attacking peaceful unarmed men and women wouldn't have a hope in hell if they were in a one on one confrontation with any of those 'hippy losers', and they know it. I'm 100% sure you are exactly the same. People like you and cops were beaten up continuously at school, so you feel the need to make yourself feel tough. If you want to be tough, then take up boxing or something. It's not tough to beat people up who aren't allowed to… [cont.]

Tear Gas chamber in the Navy?
Q. I am joining the navy when I get out of school, and my only fear is the tear gas chamber in boot camp. I can deal with all the guns and other shiz flying but the thought of the tear gas chamber just petrifies me. If you can offer any words of comfort, or just explain the process to me, I would greatly appreciate it! I hear that you have to take off the mask, say your name and SSN, but then do you get to leave, or do you have to wait for the others to get done? How long are you in there anyway?
Asked by Yo! - Sat Apr 11 22:23:10 2009 - - 9 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Just try to remember steady breathing...it s hard to do the first time because your nervous but it isnt bad. Dont get me wrong it isnt pleasant but thousands go through it every year. It is to show you how your mask works. First with your mask on you will think my mask isnt working...then you take it off and will soon learn it worked pretty well. Anyways once you get out make sure you keep your hands away from your eyes and just walk around and you will be back to normal within 30 mins tops...not hours. It is something that not everyone gets to experience so it will be something else you have done in your life you can tell your kids about.

what chemicals can one use for self-defense other than Mase, Pepperspray, and tear-gas?
Q. Some alarm systems can use pepper-spray as an added defense feature. Pepper spray will affect my goods so I am looking for something else which will also deter robbers.
Asked by ex566aaa - Wed Jul 21 14:32:54 2010 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. If you intend to carry it, then a stun gun could also be effective but if you want something steady in which like an alarm coupled with another safety feature, you should probably get something which has an automatic lock system wherein if someone tries to rob your home or store, everything will be locked and the robber could not get out until the police arrives.

Q. 50 miles in Kentucky, hauling 1500 pounds of weight in the back.
Asked by Sockfinder! - Wed Apr 22 15:42:12 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Assuming around 15mpg: approx 3.5 gallons of fuel used. 3.5 gallons x $1.80: $6.30 Average wage for a professional driver (local, non-cdl): $10 per hour. $10 x approx 50 minutes: $8.33. Zero wear and tear on vehicle: $0, because it's not doing anything it wasn't designed to do, and the distance is too short to matter. So, total cost is approximately $15. If someone was doing that for me, that sounds about how much I'd be willing to pay them. That covers their fuel and their time at a very reasonable rate.
